Questions: Maybe this story is based on a script by Gil Turner? In a August 1, 1970 letter to Michael Barrier, about Our Gang character Mooseface McElk, Barks has said that he always welcomed scripts from Gil Turner, which "were rich in gags and situations."

Backstage: In a December 11, 1969 letter to Michael Barrier, Barks wrote: "I believe it was my constant griping about having too much to do that got me free of the Barneys and Bennys."
Barks had more to do largely because the number of Donald Duck one-shots had been increased, from one in 1946 to three in 1947.
